SALES POLICY

Deposits

Prices for kids reserved prior to birth will not be higher than the listed price.  Prices on kids are subject to change, based on a current evaluation of the kid and its parents. All doe kids and pre-reserved buck kids are raised on a strict CAE prevention program.  I plan on again bottle raising all kids, as I found dam-raising did not save enough time to compensate for heathen kids running amok (in the mild, harmless sense).

I do not take deposits before kids are born and I always have first option to retain a kid. My "first option" ends once I accept a deposit; the kid is that person's to buy. I know a number of people who have been disappointed when a breeder has a change of mind, decides to retain a kid, and returns the deposit. I will not do that. If, however, something about the kid changes which makes me feel it is no longer suitable, I will contact the buyer, who has the option of purchasing the kid anyway, transferring the deposit to another kid, or having it returned.

I keep a list with people's contact information and their preference of kid. Within a couple of days of a suitable "reserved" kid being born, I contact the first person on the list. They have 48 hours to let me know if they are still interested and to PayPal or mail a $50 deposit (Song kids require a $100 deposit). If the first person is not interested, I go on down the list. The deposit will hold the kid until weaning or other mutually acceptable time. As soon as someone agrees to buy the kid, if I decide to retain the kid, or if no suitable kid is born, I let everyone else on the list know.

If you'd like to have your name added to the list under these conditions, I'd be more than glad to do so. Simply email  me your contact information and the kid(s) in which you are interested.

Testing and Shipping

We will test for anything the potential buyer wants or which is required by law. The potential buyer is responsible for all testing costs, regardless of outcome, but an unfavorable result will void any obligation of sale and result in any deposit, over the testing costs, being returned. We cannot be responsible for an animal's health once it leaves, beyond those conditions mentioned in the ADGA Bylaws under Recommended Trade Practices for Members.

We ship out of Port Columbus Airport. Surrounding airports may also be used if conditions warrant. We will work with a potential buyer to find a suitable flight, and we can make the reservations. The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, including CVI (health certificate), shipping crate, animal freight charges, and a reasonable charge, not to exceed out of pocket expenses, for transportation to the airport. The charge for a CVI may vary depending on what is needed. We often have good, used shipping crates available at a very reasonable cost. We will cooperate with a buyer if ground transport is desired, but the buyer is responsible for making arrangements and reservations with any commercial ground shipper. We can sometimes deliver to or meet with a buyer, but the buyer is responsible for our expenses. If we are going to a show or other place anyway, we may be able to deliver an animal at a reduced charge. Pick-ups at the farm are always welcome. It is the buyer's responsibility to have the required paperwork and testing (if necessary) if they are transporting an animal across state lines. We highly recommend all laws be followed and will work with the buyer to obtain everything needed prior to pick up. If a commercial shipper (air or ground) is used, or if we are transporting the animal, this is not an option.
